I've taken a lot of languages, guys, and Greek is by far the hardest. Honestly, if you're not a Classics major, do NOT take this language (unless you just enjoy being miserable and frustrated with ancient languages, then by all means do it). Many people are surprised that this is Intro to Ancient (Attic) Greek--so stay away if you think you'll be able to ever use these skills in modern Athens, because you won't. This class requires work every single night, and sometimes it's a lot (although you rarely ever get through it all in lecture). Dillery is a pretty amusing teacher and very fair, so you're always prepared for quizzes and tests. He's ideology is that Attic Greek is already hard enough, so what's the point in trying to trick you? Because odds are you'll mess yourself up anyway. You really get to know your classmates with classes 5 days a week (misery loves company and people who take Greek are surprisingly funny). My advice: stay on top of the work, MAKE FLASHCARDS, know your principal parts, and review any chance you have free time.
