Professor Clay is such a great professor! She worked for ESPN and still writes articles as a freelancer, so she's definitely knowledgeable about the material. Even though she's an adjunct professor, she really should be an actual professor for the Media Studies department, because she really works hard to make sure her students get the best out of the class. In terms of the class, you'll do a written feature, a video feature (did not happen due to COVID), written assignments due on Collab (like 250-300 words per class), participate in class discussions and post discussion questions when there's a speaker. If you want to do well on the feature, I highly recommend asking a lot of people to read over your feature and read as many professional/published features as possible. When it comes to the speakers, she has a variety of speakers. Speakers could be sports journalists from Sports Illustrated, ESPN, or even professional athletes like MLB or NBA players. Pretty much, if you love sports, this is the class for you.
