This course was like everything I've learned in statistics ever, but summarized, plus a short linear algebra section. We did not go super in depth into any of the material. It may seem really easy and boring in the beginning, but the material picks up later. The grade breakdown for fall 2021 was three midterms (each 15%), a final (25%), and six homework assignments (30%). Noah is very nice and very helpful, so utilize him as a resource! All of the exams were open note, and the final was take home.

Noah is legendary for teaching STAT 3110. If you wanna choose from MATH 3100/STAT 3110 as a STAT major, take it with Noah.

To me, it wasn't clear how the content of this class fit in to learning statistics in general. It felt mainly like a math class in which formulas are emphasized (don't expect any coding). Noah was an incredible teacher being super generous with office hours and willing to explain concepts.

Good class. Ramps up really steadily, and some of the later material is definitely the "fun"/ "fulfilling" kind of challenging. Noah Gade is also very kind and helpful in office hours. Pay attention in class, stay on top of homework, and go to OH, and getting a good grade should be easy.
