I took Middlebrow Writers & Readers with Professor Dickens and I really enjoyed it! It completely changes your perspective on how we value literature. The essays are somewhat difficult, but Prof. Dickens is extremely nice and helpful as long as you are willing to go to her office hours and talk out your ideas and issues with her. I truly think I became a better writer by taking this class and learning from the feedback that she provided! Course Assignments: Weekly blog posts and quotation analysis, three essays (one of which you will revise), and a final reflection essay on your experience in the class. Prof. Dickens also gives you tokens that you can use at any time during the semester without explanation, including the ability to revise an essay for a better grade and a 48 hour extension.
