I personally really enjoyed this class; I thought the lectures were engaging and interesting, and I think professor Ji does a great job visualizing and simplifying some pretty abstract mathematics. The workload of this class was very manageable, and I thought the homeworks were pretty fun to work on. Professor Ji was also very forgiving about deadlines and credit, and actually canceled some assignments outright because he didn't realize he didn't have enough time left (and just gave everyone full credit for the assignments instead of making everything else worth more). Personally, I'd have liked more applications/assignments because I liked making the models, but it probably won't be as big an issue in future semesters. There is a lot of math in this class, but it doesn't show up in the assignments (directly) so it isn't the biggest deal if you don't have the math prereqs (though the lectures will probably be a lot more confusing).
