I went into this class expecting it to be pretty unexciting, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Kate is an extremely engaging and passionate lecturer, and you can really tell how much knowledge she has about art history. She provides opportunities to submit drafts before the deadline and gives really helpful feedback. She respects students’ time and organized the course in a very logical and streamlined way. I would absolutely recommend this class and hope to take another class with Kate in the future!

Professor Kreindler is super knowledgable on her course material. She’s really approachable during and outside of class, and she provides constructive feedback on your assignments (also she grades pretty fast which is a huge plus). You really don’t need to do any readings for the class as she covers everything you need to know in class. Her teaching style allows us to dive into each topic thoroughly, and I felt like I gained a much better understanding of each period/culture than I did with other art/architectural history courses. It starts off pretty general with many regions, but in the latter half of the course she focuses a lot on Roman art/architecture which is great if it interests you. In terms of assignments, you’re only looking at an essay, group project, and exams. I’d say it’s relatively light compared to other classes and can be a nice breather. Overall, this professor is a great pick if you’re considering taking this course!
