I personally find German literature classes to be very boring but Herr Ilsemann does a great job making the normally dull material very interesting and every class is entertaining. He is a very strict grader which challenges you to do well ultimately making your German writing skills much more professional. You get many chances to correct your mistakes so getting a B is not difficult but you need to work hard for an A.

Professor Ilseman is great! He makes the class interesting and is always willing to help. He grades really hard on essays though so don't take the class unless you're a German major/minor, otherwise you'll just spend a lot of time on the class and it'll drop your GPA. Class is mainly on analyzing poems and short stories and writing essays about them.
