As of fall 11 the class itself wasn't too bad if you have a German background beyond UVA- the grammar was mostly review for me but if you're coming directly from GERM 2020 you'll probably have to spend a lot of time memorizing/ practicing various grammatical aspects. Some of the workbook exercises can get time-consuming though. Bjorklund however, is another story. She never learned our names (even though there were only 20-ish people in the class) and as a result assigned grades for one person to someone else. She also did not show up for class at least 5 times in the semester. The best part of the class was watching the television show ,,Berlin, Berlin'' on Fridays.
In order to major/minor in German you probably have to take this class, in which case take it with someone other than Bjorklund.

She has memory problems and straight up won't remember who you are from one day to another. She gets grammar things wrong all the time and forgets to tell you that you're having a test or a paper due the very next day!
