Professor Dobryden is exceptionally kind and very good at teaching introductory German. He is very good at gauging when to switch to English to explain a task, and made sure that he provided students with necessary knowledge to practice speaking and writing both in and out of class. He regularly updated his Canvas page too, which was a plus! It was very easy to know what your grade in the class was at any given time. He also responds to emails quite quickly as well. Overall, I would highly recommend him as an instructor. If you take German with him, you're in good hands and will learn the language effectively.
