Great class and wonderful professor, definitely very practical. I wish the French department had more classes like this.

This was probably the most useful French class I have taken at UVA. During the semester you will work through a business french work/textbook that will teach you a lot of useful things about the subject. For example, from this semester I picked up a lot of business vocabulary, info about business structures in France, and most importantly some realities of working and living in France. You will do a handful of writing assignments and business presentations about a specific topic - which aren't too hard but do take some time. If you have the dream to work or intern in France someday, I really think this course is a must. An amazing thing about this class is that you get very useful opportunities such as getting to do a practice job interview in French and also to take a certification exam for Diplôme de Français Professionnel (which is SOO useful for applications and your resume). A few words on Mdm Lova - I love Lova because she is kind but also organized and straightforward with the class. She was also not very harsh with grading which I liked. I would say most people in our class got As this semester. Overall, this class is not too difficult (but does have some tedious work). Definitely take it based on the fact that you will gain SO much from this class as a whole!
