Work: Regular Reading, 20-60 pages a week (all in German) but it's spread out, I found the reading manageable and not too difficult for our level, Reading journal every Sunday (100-300 words), Final Paper and a presentation on our final paper. The 10-15 minute presentation was set up as a symposium about Black German Literature, and we presented before our final papers were due. No Midterm
Teacher: Incredible. Julia Gutterman is a star. She is extremely understanding and very flexible with accommodations, to the extent that she was offering me possible ways to adjust an assignment to help me. She's a very interesting lecturer and she has excellent taste in the books/texts we read for the class. I have taken several classes with her before and she is an awesome professor. I took this class mainly because she is the one teaching it.
Class: In class, we discussed the reading as a big group. Sometimes we got into small groups to discuss, or watched a documentary or a webinar. I felt that class was a productive use of my time and that the prof was able to guide discussion in a way that was beneficial.
