Overall, I enjoyed this course, but I wish we could have had it in-person. We were put in small groups for the quarter, which was a nice way to get to meet people in the class. This course was not very hard; it seems like as long as you participate, you will get a good grade. There is a decent amount of reading (about 100 pages per week), and writing that goes along with the reading (mostly responding to quotes from the book). If you are a musician, you will probably enjoy this course (there is a lot of talk about improvisation); otherwise, it might not be that interesting.
