I really enjoyed Prof. Fiorani as a person but I found "The Art of Looking" to be a bit boring and hard to understand. I have no exposure to art or art history and found the readings to be boring (It may be different if you take an interest in the subject!). In class we would discuss the readings but I didn't get anything from the in class discussions. I still have no idea what I was supposed to have learned. BUT, Prof. Fiorani is very knowledgeable and passionate about art history and was very approachable. She cared about her students and their performance. She was also a COLA professor (take a COLA!!) so she was very knowledgable in the advising portion of the EGMT. She also did field trips which was so fun. None of my other EGMTs did that. We went to the Kluge-Ruhe museum and the Fralin. The final project required us to analyze a piece of art that was on display at the Fralin and then present to the class. We also had another assignment where we had to write a paragraph or so about a piece of work we had seen in class. Both assignments were super easy and she grades so nicely. I doubt this class is the worst of the 1510s so if it's the only thing that fits in your schedule don't worry, you'll enjoy the professor and field trips! #tCFS24
