TLDR: Take this class. Simple as that. Metcalf is the man, most reasonable grader I've have thus far at UVA and cares a lot about what he teaches.

Professor Metcalf is amazing and one of the smartest guys I’ve ever met. He really cares about what he’s teaching and even though it can be boring at times, he really helps. The grading was all extremely lenient in my opinion and as long as you put some work in you’ll end up with an A- he drops low quiz and essay grades.
