Lectures are highly theoretical with confusing, unexplained notation written at a high pace. The homeworks are easy (because they are from the textbook), but the textbook does not help with preparing for the midterms and does not match up to the lecture. The Professor is scathing and implied that the average of the class based on midterm performance indeed deserved to fail. He is never clear about his expectations (in fact, outright said in class he would not tell us what he sees as a passing grade in his course) and is reluctant to answer questions. He has told students to just "google" the concept. His midterms are very difficult, sometimes testing on concepts you learned a days before the midterm or concepts you really solidify a week after the midterm. Not only did I spend the most time on this class (studying 20+ hours for the midterms), but I felt that I did not learn as much as I could have given the time I spent. If you want an enjoyable class, I would not recommend this class. If you really like theoretical math and conceited, snarky professors, then do take this class.
