Material is really interesting-- does a good job of mixing academic theory and grounded anecdotes/research.
The workload is very manageable: Professor Laboe wants you to engage earnestly and honestly with the material, and avoids busywork (one weekly, casual post in response to readings, one class-discussion leading, and one final research-ish paper). The readings can be a bit of time, but they're very thought-provoking. There also aren't any quizzes, and sometimes Professor asks you to only skim a source, so it isn't too bad.
Professor Laboe was extremely accessible out of class, responsive, and clearly cared about our learning. A thought-provoking, positive experience! Everyone interested in education (as a professional or not!) should take this class!
Only critique was that a lot of class-time was spent in discussions, which was nice because it was not stressful, but sometimes could feel a little meandering.
The final paper isn't too stressful or harshly graded, but does require a fair amount of research so make sure you budget enough time!
