I took this class with Erin Horn and it was pretty average. The lectures were usually bearable (some days more so than others), but the content never really directly appeared in tests. A lot of the lecture topics were things that clinical psychologists need to be aware of and get training in, but not how they actually work (which is what the tests focused more on). However, your entire grade is not determined by these tests, which I really liked. There are three papers through the semester (Personal Identity, Technique role-play, & Case Formulation) that were much easier to get good grades on than the tests. Professor Horn provided very detailed rubrics for each assignment and if you follow those, an A is imminent. She also offers extra credit in the form of 6 short writing assignments through the semester; if you complete all of these at a B- level, she'll boost your overall course grade one step (B- to B, A to A+, etc.). Horn is very young and obviously very knowledgeable about the field, but isn't the best professor that I've had in the psych department. She is definitely not the worst either. Office hours are also very helpful and lecture > reading.
