This was a pretty fun class compared to other ones in the French dept. We typically had homework every night but it usually was very easy (i.e. watching a video and posting in a forum about it). The bulk of this class was doing some kind of partner or group activity in class that related to working with media. We had a lot of group projects assigned and most of our grade was based on us writing up and making a photographic narration of a story about our lives. Mdm Levine is a nice lady and will always answer questions and give feedback on things you are working on. However, I feel that she was a harsh grader most of the time. For example, it seemed like she took off points for the most random things on our papers and projects. The act of going to class was always pretty enjoyable and laid back though. Levine creates a very engaging environment and definitely focuses on participation in class. It is definitely possible to get an A, even though it may not seem like it with her grading of assignments. I feel like there was a "curve" at the end of the semester with which most people got As and A-s in the class. Overall, this is a fun class to take with minimal work and reduced stress. Definitely not as hardcore as other French classes and also very much improves your storytelling skills!
