This class has definitely taught me a lot about race and its depiction in film history, and has consequently changed my perspective on the subject. Professor Davé has a passion for the material, and knows what she's talking about. Make sure that you do the readings and attend both the class and the film screenings. Do that and the reading assignments, and you'll pass the class.

One of the best media studies class as well (besides Western and JFK)- and professor Dave is the bomb. She also picks some really thought provoking films, but also, teaches you how to analyze film and pay attention to the muse-en-scene that you will use/analyze in other films that you watch. This is a very powerful class, and I think professor Dave is definitely one of our stronger professors in this department. Definitely recommend! #tcf2016
