He is a really good professor and helps out a lot with your writing and comprehension. The topics in the class are interesting but the readings are long and very boring. There aren't any homework assignments with the readings which is nice and there are three essays and two quizzes, also no final. A good class to take if you don't want to speak that much in class and are good at reading and writing french.

I really do not enjoy rhetorical analysis in English and found it just as boring in French. That being said, Ferguson is a really good professor. He's very organized, enthusiastic, and willing to help. He gives you multiple prompts to choose from on essays and lets you be creative in what you write about. The readings he chose were fairly interesting, too. Yes, I found the class boring, but that's a reflection of my interests, not of Ferguson.
One last note- he's a very harsh grader. Other than that he's a solid professor.
