Took this class in Fall 2013. Material was pretty easy and it was not necessary to do all the readings, though in the long run it would help your french more if you did them. Polanz is very approachable, and an excellent professor. With three written assignments, participation, and a portfolio due, the graded work was very manageable. Definitely recommend this class!

Mme Polanz is a very engaging lecturer and makes sure that her students understand the literature by presenting it in a variety of ways and fully explaining everything- the selections are also interesting reads. There were three writing assignments and three tests with some graded homework. Students who did well in AP French may find this class easy. Definitely recommend this professor!

Pretty easy class if you actually go to class and keep up with the readings.
