Professor Lombart is one of the best French professors I have ever had. He is so helpful with each individual student, and he truly wants everyone to feel like they are understanding the content. He makes directions and guidelines very fair, and he also gives really helpful feedback. I was worried about taking French after not having taken a class for over a year, but he was able to help me adapt and even stop in the middle of class to break down certain grammar if I was confused. It definitely can be tedious at time because a lot of the focus is on grammar that I never even learned in AP French nor had even heard about, but it really helped my comprehension and understanding of the language. If you can take this class with M. Lombart, definitely do it!

French 3031 with Professor Lombart is an awesome course for anybody who wants a refresher on French grammar! He covers a lot of grammar rules that aren’t often stressed in high school French, and this course is a great review for anybody who took AP French but wants a more solid foundation when it comes to French grammar. There is very little homework and Professor Lombart’s expectations for the grammar tests and papers are extremely clear, so you should be able to do well as long as you put effort into the assignments. The lectures can be dry at times and I wish there was more of an opportunity for conversation and interaction with the other students in the class, but Professor Lombart is extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and kind, and if you want to or need to take 3031, definitely take it with Professor Lombart!
