Bro just yaps and yaps. Classes are very biased, and he is a very harsh grader. Expect your GPA to drop and learn nothing.

If you like Catholic/ancient Christian theology, this is a must-take class! Mathewes is a ton of fun and a super smart guy. He lectures one day a week and then basically opens up to questions the other day. I would have actually preferred he lecture both days because we got on tangents a lot of the time on the questions day which could be frustrating. By the end of the semester you will have read the entire City of God, but know you'll only scratch the surface of its richness. Really amazing work and something students of religious studies/politics/history should be familiar with. You write two take-home essays and then a paper commentary/summary of one "book" (chapter) of the City, which you trade around for peer-review. Mathewes doesn't really care about your grade, just that you learn. He can be a very tough grader but also very forgiving if your work improves.
