Overall, this is a good class. Professor Wyckoff and Todd (who co-taught with him) were very knowledgable and ran the class well. I found the readings interesting, but they could be a bit dry if you aren't interested in economics since a lot of them are from education economists. The course content was pretty interesting as well, and a lot of the assignments focused on very practical skills like memo writing, analyzing evidence to inform policy prescriptions, and constructing theories of change. There were also several guest speakers that were leaders in the field. I highly recommend if you are interested in ed policy, education economics, or education leadership. Also, Wyckoff is a leader in education economics -- he is well-worth taking a class with if you are interested in education economics and want to venture outside of Monroe Hall.

If you are interested at all in current education issues/policies, this class is very informative. I highly recommend this class for any Batten students. The work is very reasonable and professor Wyckoff is a great teacher.

Professor Wyckoff gives a thorough overview of education policy history and provides his students with the tools to examine current major education initiatives. The readings are always reasonable, and he would always provide students with a summary of what to focus on in the readings for the next class. Great class for anyone interested in the subject.
