EVSC 2800

The tests are easy but lecture is boring and the homework assignments are ambiguous. The class is 25% midterm, 25 cumulative final, and 50% homework. He grades Very slowly as in over a month to grade a single hw. We had 3 homeworks that take 1-2 hours on average and usually are 5 questions. He will tell you your answer is right and then 2 days later say it's wrong. There is no consistently in grading. It's easy but I hate it and my patience is tested.

I am an environmental science major, and this is a class that I am glad I did not take earlier because it is bad enough to make you never want to enter the department again. He is unfair in grading, fails everyone on the midterm and doesn't curve, gives ambiguous hw assignments, effectively says nothing relevant in class, and then did not even push back the midterm when he was not there for the entire week before it. Overall, one of the worst classes I have taken at UVA. Don't take it at all if you can avoid it, and if you have to... choose the professor wisely.

Sen is the worst professor at UVA and thankfully he's leaving this semester so nobody else will have to suffer because of him. It took him 2 months and a day to return points he mistakenly took off from EVERYONE'S homework grade. Like the other reviewer said, he cancelled class the entire week of the midterm and didn't provide us with any information about the exam/any review materials, claiming that he "didn't have time to make anything". Geology is an interesting subject and has a lot of potential to be a great EVSC core course, but Sen ruins it all. Sorry to everyone else who had him thisyear
