You get 6 quizzes and 4 tests. All of the quizzes are open note. The tests are a little difficult, but if you study the powerpoint lectures then you will do fine (there's no other input of information besides his lecture, no reading or homework). There's no cumulative final and we took our last 2 tests online so we didn't have to come to class. Just show up to lecture relatively frequently and you'll do fine. The grade distribution is 15% quizzes, 25% for the first two tests, 20% for the third test, and 15% for the last test.

If you love soil, you're going to love this class. If you have no interest in environmental science and you're just trying to fulfill your science and math requirement, this is the class for you. There is very little work throughout the semester until you have to prepare for a test (thats when the soil hits the fan if you know what I'm saying). There are 4 tests and several openbook online quizzes you take throughout the semester- the first 2 tests count for 25%. I don't pay attention in lecture but i grind really hard for the tests via his powerpoint slides. I will definitely not get an A in this class, but I'm hoping to end with a B. I would reccommend taking 1010 first because all my friends who took that prior to this class are doing much better than me.
