The USOAR program is really great for getting research experience and forming a close relationship with a mentor of a field you’re (hopefully) interested in. That being said, this class is a required portion of the program and it sucks. It’s boring, the instructors are condescending, and overall it’s just a waste of time. Don’t let this stop you from applying to be part of USOAR, but do go into this seminar with VERY low expectations.
