Professor Nair is super helpful and understanding. She does a wonderful job of covering this topic, so if you're interested in actually learning about the Partition of India, I definitely recommend it. If you're not interested but looking for an easy course to take, this class can be that too. There's one 6 page paper, one 10-12 paper, and a few other small assignments throughout the semester - all of which are graded very fairly.

Pretty good course, but helpful if you have a background in the region. Class once a week, you only have to talk three times all semester to get a full participation grade. You don't really have to do the readings in detail, you can just scan them and chime in during class. Neeti is disorganized, but friendly and approachable. Three papers, 2 5-page and the final is 10-12. Not the easiest, but if you cite a lot from the readings it helps. Overall, very informative and interesting class, fairly easy.
