D'Errico isn't really the greatest professor in the world, but your grade in this class is entirely dependent on your TA's. Apparently the format of this class is changing substantially in the future (smaller lecture led by D'Errico) but if you see Jap Nakar or George Derk as TA's for English, get them! Both are extremely helpful and easy to take to/meet up with outside of class. This class will make you a better writer, but you'll spend a lot of time looking at the same topic over and over again and having to really think about style, argumentation, and what you're actually saying.

This class was very helpful for learning how to write for a profession or graduate school. I learned a lot about how to make the reader want to continue reading your work. Be prepared to spend a lot of time on writing though.
