Although boring at times, the class was certainly enlightening as to how news articles are written. Kelly's a pretty tough grader, but as long as you follow the procedures that he sets out, you should be perfectly fine. Thankfully, you have ample opportunity to boost your grade if you get a low score due to the daily writing assignments (at least during the summer...), and he offered rewrites in at least 2 occasions.
As a plus, the class had essentially no homework whatsoever (a few weekend assignments, nothing much at all) and he lets people out of class early once you're finished with your assignment.

Not a bad class. Walk in to class and begin with briefing everyday after which you have to write a 1.5-2.0 page double spaced news article for the second half. Always let out early, and didn't give much work outside of class besides one paper to write for homework. The only issue is that he isn't very helpful in explaining what you can do to make your grade better and isn't very clear about how grades are calculated in his class. I think you can easily get a B+ or an A-.
