This is a review for Samantha Wallace, but the settings were weird so I put staff. The topic was Women, Romance, and Writing and I enjoyed it a lot. Our grade was comprised of participation in the form of weekly responses to a set list of media (mostly readings but watched a film and tv show) and three essays. The readings were kind of a lot at some points, especially compared to workloads I heard about from other ENWRs, but the readings themselves are really interesting. Samantha was pretty chill and understanding with COVID circumstances and our discussions, which met once a week, would often go off-topic and were also relaxed. Highly recommend the topic and instructor!

You have to take an ENWR, and I don't see why you shouldn't take it with Courtney Watts. She's a little bit of a harsh grader (what grad student isn't tbh), but she's very dedicated to helping her students improve their writing, and she cares really deeply about all of them. She's super super intelligent and although our topic (Writing About Love) wasn't really milked to its full potential, she was awesome and made the course worthwhile! P.S. Definitely go to her office hours, she's very honest and gives great advice.

TAKE THIS COURSE WITH SEAN SHEARER! Sean is BY FAR the best professor I have had while on grounds. This class is based around 3 Essay's (I'm not a great writer and got A's on every single one) and a viral video project. Almost every class we were watching Black Mirror or YouTube videos. Although the Viral Video Project is a lot of work, it is SO worth it compared to other classes. The class is all about social media and how we interact with it so this course is definitely interesting for students! I am so glad I ended up enrolling in Sean's social media ENWR, not only did I love the class but it made my life easier, too!
