I took this course with Caleb Agnew, and my class was definitely one of the best classes I have taken here at UVA thus far. My topic was "Writing about Environment," and he had us read a lot of material that helped facilitate discussions in class. Personally, I think the best part of this course is that you are allowed to share your own personal opinion; this is a judgement-free class. As long as you do the readings and turn in everything in time, you should be fine.

I really liked Caleb. He's young and fun and approachable. Readings were very short but we had them every night. 3 papers and you get to revise them all. I never got an A on a paper because he believes that there are few "perfect papers" out there, but as long as you participate and do your work, you should definitely get a B or above. He really strives to make you a better writer and his class was really interesting thus our discussions were very interesting. I would definitely recommend taking a class form him. However if you're looking for an easy, no-effort class, this isn't it.
Caleb is a super chill professor! He tries not to assign too much reading during the week, and the readings are usually pretty easy to understand. He can be a hard grader sometimes but rarely ever gives lower than a C. I definitely recommend taking any course he teaches!
