I landed in this class by chance and was so thankful! It's about ghost stories, but it's not really scary. You read things about ghost stories or actual ghost stories for homework for almost every class, as well as watch some movies. We watched Poltergeist and The Sixth Sense. I felt like I learned how to actually write in this class and left feeling so much more confident in my work than I did before. I loved Eliza - definitely take advantage of her office hours! She gives great feedback and is always willing to help. Overall, I highly recommend this course. The workload was not too demanding and the reading quizzes were ridiculously easy (as long as you actually read the stuff).

Eliza is just AMAZING. I love this class so much. Although I'm only in first year, I think Eliza will be one of the best professors I will ever meet at UVA. Take this class if you are interested in ghost story. You're going to learn a lot of interesting stuff. And our homework is sometimes watching a horror movie!
