I have mixed feelings about this class, but overall I think I liked Professor Kravetz. The topic of her course is Beauty and Thievery in the Modern Museum, which I did not enjoy because every reading and writing we did was about museums. We had homework almost every class, and for the first half of the course we would read an article and answer some questions (which was pretty much a completion grade), and the second half we were working on writing assignments. There were two main papers, the first one was 3-4 pages and pretty easy, and the second was a 6-8 page research essay. She gives a lot of assignments that build up to it so it's not stressful. The research essay is actually pretty interesting because she lets you pick any topic that interests you as long as it's somewhat related to the course. I picked something that interested me and I actually enjoyed that paper. Overall, the topic is not great, but Professor Kravetz is a really fair grader and she's super helpful if you ever need anything. I honestly would recommend the course. #tCFfall2021
I would 100% recommend this course. Professor Kravetz is a wonderful teacher and an overall amazing person. The course was writing about museums, which I was particularly interested in, so it worked well for me. Both essays are manageable and she gives a ton of lead-up assignments (i.e. rough drafts) that help you develop your ideas. The classes were interesting and were often held outside (due to COVID). Professor Kravetz is reachable and a fair, kind grader.
