Adam Trusner is a good professor for the most part. He is very knowledgeable on the topic of U.S. involvement in the MIddle East since the early 1900s. The history portion of the class is ver interesting, but the papers can be frustrating. He does not give much constructive feedback on papers. I have not become a better writer since taking this course, but I have learned a lot about history. On the papers, he does not give any help with arguments other than saying "wrong". He does give help on the ENWR format of writing, but not logic, flow, or reasoning.
I expected to hate my ENWR, so I just picked the one that fit into my schedule the best. I couldn't have been luckier to end up in Adam's ENWR. The class material is really interesting, and Adam always knows random little side stories that make it even better. The writing aspect was not very fun. He expects your papers to be up to par. But he gives you good feedback and tells you how to fix it. The writing is formulaic, but that's what the ENWR program dictates. But what I felt really mattered, was at the end of the class, I had learned a great deal about the US involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan and my writing improved a great deal.
Adam is a great professor who truly makes class enjoyable. I learned a lot about the Iraq War in his class and am so glad I took it. Adam presents the material well and pretty much gives the information needed to write the papers. I got an A - in the class, not an A, but am still glad I had Adam as a professor.
