This was the best Arabic class I have ever taken, both at UVA and outside (Jordan/Oman). Sawaie is an incredible professor and truly helped his students understand the grammar. This class has drastically improved my writing and understanding of the language. If you enjoy Arabic, take this class!

I am a native arabic speaker and worked hard in the course and still ended up with an A- cuz he's a jerk. I really tried my best and did well on assignments and spoke to him several times but he thought I took it for an easy A and gave me an A-. I took it to get credit for the language requirement because I had to.
