Obiedat is one of the best teachers in the Arabic department. But if you decide to take his class, make sure you go in willing to put in exorbitant amounts of work. He expects you to come to class not only prepared, but very familiar with the material. He prefers to perfect, rather than teach, in class. The class is as tough as it sounds, but it's very worthwhile. You will leave feeling much more confident in your Arabic abilities.
Obiedat is really smart and funny, you will learn a lot but its an extremely intensive workload, if you aren't a native speaker at least. Its a very worthwhile class but it is also very difficult, take it only if you truly want to learn arabic, this isn't a class you take for fun
Obiedat stresses grammar and assigns a heavy workload, but he makes sure you really understand the material. Tests are difficult but he curves fairly generously. Always come to class prepared and be ready for him to make fun of you. But ultimately he's a great professor -- highly recommended for ARAB 201 and 202.
Very tough but worth it, you learn a lot. You have to pay attention and participate to do well. Always come prepared
This class puts a lot of emphasis on unnecessary grammar but the prof. is amazing and really knows his stuff. Hard but worth while.
