Professor D'Errico is kind and make this class very interesting, as he isn't too demanding and he truly loves the subject matter. There is one paper to write and he allows several revisions. There is quite a bit of reading, but all of it is incredibly interesting and I have come out of the class with a few new favorite short stories and novels. This is a great class for anyone looking to fulfill their writing requirement or literature requirement, along with anyone who is a pre-English major.
Not the easiest or even most interesting way to fulfill your second writing requirement. The discussion topics can get interesting, but Professor D'errico definitely has favorites. Quizzes are pretty easy with studying, but grades for papers and your final grade aren't really explained and very subjective.
Jon is one of my all time fav profs, one of those profs who make you want to cry on the last day of class to see them go. He is super passionate about specific subject matters and very positive and encouraging so that you feel free to express your opinion and make mistakes. He is largely the reason I became an English major. Any subject with him is going to be fun. My only complaint is that he is a bit of a stickler for the rules so make sure to turn in things on time and show up to class. If you do all of those things and try you will get an A.
