Lara is a really good professor: laidback, conversational, understanding, and very smart. Usually not a huge fan of English classes, but the discussions in her class were (generally) pretty interesting. Reading is about 50-60 pages per class of a science fiction novel, which was pretty easy for the monday class, but gets kinda hard to do 50 (and up to about 75-80) pages between Monday and Wednesday. That being said, the workload could be worse, but just be warned that this class isn't a cake-walk in terms of homework, and there's no way to get by without doing all readings just about entirely. Essay grading was fair, but participation and reading quizzes were only 5% each, which explains a lower GPA than classes like ENWRs. If you need to/want to take a literature class, Lara's is a good one to take, but not sure I would go out of my way to take it.
