We analyzed 'Les Miserables' throughout an entire semester. It's a huge novel and the seminars unpacked it really well. If you like the movie or musical and want a slightly less intensive literature-type class this is a good choice - Professor Barnett is really nice, helpful and knowledgeable too.

I LOVED this class. It wasn't necessarily easy (considering we read and analyzed an 1,000 page book), but class discussions were always interesting. Professor Barnett was very knowledgeable on the subject and always willing to help, but I didn't always agree with her critics. Still worth it though, especially if you like Les Miserables or literature in general.
