Professor Wall is an incredible person, with an incredible knowledge and passion for all aspects of the 18th century (she's even the editor for the version of "Pilgrim's Progress" that we read for class). This is a great option for the 18th century English major requirement, but there is definitely a ton of reading that comes with it. As well, there is a one-page "essay" due each week about a current work, along with two 5-7 page papers. There is also a group project/presentation about an aspect of 18th century culture, such as art, architecture, fashion, etc. After a few weeks into the course, there is about one student presentation per week that takes up almost the entire class time. Good choice for the pre-18th century requirement.
