Professor Fraiman is one of the best professors I have had at this university. Everyone raves about professors being knowledgable in their field and fascinating figures, but Fraiman takes this a step farther in how accessible she is to students (on top of those professor-esque attributes). She truly loves the contemporary and applicable learning that can be garnered from the intimate discussions sizes and I never felt as though she neglected careful thought on every opinion presented. Her eloquence is intimidatingly impressive, but I found that as class continued it became less formal and more comfortable. This class was NOT light on reading. I adored the material and even I didn't have time to read it all alongside of other classwork- however I wouldn't change a thing about the class. The way it is structured, two papers and a final, doesn't make it absolutely imperative that you read every single article on time. That being said, you should take information away from each article by the time the final comes around. But outside of academia, this course was worthwhile. The environment was a great space to intellectually explore feminist theory because Fraiman is a fantastic guide.
