The American Supernatural was a wonderful course, probably one of the best I've taken at UVa. Professor Ogden is very friendly, helpful, approachable, and knowledgable, the course information is incredibly interesting, and the coursework isn't overwhelmingly difficult. We had 3-5 hours of outside reading per week (depending on how slow you read), a midterm, a short paper (3-5 pages), and a final paper (8-10 pages). If you're interested in doing more research than you usually would for an English class, this is definitely a class you should take!
