I really really loved this class. I have been involved in sports my entire life, so I found it really interesting to learn about the history of women in sports and the nuances of the disparity between men and women in this area. Professor Hagerman is a very engaging lecturer, and I found myself excited to go to class. There isn't much homework outside of 2-3 writing assignments for the entire semester. The in class writing assignments were manageable, but you need to know a few key elements from the readings to do well on them. The book review is graded fairly, and I found it a very interesting assignment. The final research paper is challenging simply due to the volume of research you are dealing with, but it is a research and methods class. Overall, I loved this as a second writing requirement, and Professor Hagerman made the material fun and engaging.
