The course itself was interesting to satisfy a Second Year Writing requirement. However, the professor has an awful way to grade essays and your whole grade is reliant pretty much on those two essays. Reading itself is a lot and you have to read a 300 page novel at least once a week which is tough with other school work to balance.

Took this class thinking it would be an easy A for Second Writing Requirement. Good teacher but your grade is reliant on two grades which are in essay format. She grades based on a 0-10 scale so if you get a 5/10 that’s an automatic 50%. She looks for very specific things in her essay and is not very clear on what she wants for her students in their essay. Really good class if you’re good at writing and interested in Korean literature though.
