I took Cuban Culture with Charlotte Rogers. She is very intelligent and knowledgeable about everything Cuba, so she is the perfect professor for the course. I spent a ton of time on this class and I got a lot out of it, but if you wanted to, you could skim the readings and be fine. You have to work for a good grade, as she expects a lot out of her students. Give her 20 years though, and she may be one of the leading authorities on Cuba/Latin America. I enjoyed the course and did not dread going to it, because Charlotte will joke with you on Fridays about being "tired"--she knows what's up. This goes without saying, but you should be a confident Spanish speaker and be interested in Cuba if you want to take this course.
