SPAN 2010 is the textbook definition of a flipped classroom intermediate-level language class. There was a ton of homework, but you'll need every bit of it if you want to become proficient. There is also a lot of in-class discussion, with participation a not insignificant part of your grade. Getting an A is very difficult because of the high cap (95.5%+) but if you do all the work you can basically guarantee an A-. Professor Barlow is excellent, just a very encouraging and friendly language teacher. She focused hard on fostering participation, which is necessary given that it was an intermediate language class. There was a ton of homework and at-home work, but she was willing to cut some slack with deadlines as long as you communicated that in advance. She gave a lot of feedback in terms of revisions for unit projects and such.

There's a lot of homework, but as long as you complete it you can easily get an A. Lots of opportunities in class to practice Spanish with your peers. #tCFF23
