Mehr Farooqi is an incredible professor. This class was heavy on reading, but still met the second-writing requirement. We had four page long reflections and one 2000 word paper due. Farooqi can seem blunt, but I love that about her. She is honest about the work you do, and is always trying to push her students in the right direction. The class was also extremely discussion based, and every week was really fruitful in discussion. Even over Zoom, I got to know my classmates relatively well with a lot of group presentations. We even had a little backyard meet-up soiree at Farooqi's home.

There's a lot of reading and almost weekly written responses about material, as well as two longer papers (6-10 pgs) and one group project. The readings were interesting and the grading is pretty easy. Prof Farooqi is super nice and very knowledgeable, which makes this class fun and worth taking.
