Professor Tate makes the class interesting and explains all concepts well. The assigned readings that are to be completed before lecture help a lot with understanding the content that is taught in lecture. The discussion sections are important for attendance grades and the assigned papers. The only assignments are five 2-3 page papers on topics that are often discussed in the discussion sections. The only other grades are the midterm and the final which require a lot of studying, especially the vocabulary terms.

Thought Ashley was great, but a hard grader and not too flexible. Her grading is subjective and she was much more difficult than one could have reasonably expected. Other TAs gave out As on essays, she was averaging Bs on all of them when one could reasonably expect her students' grades to be much, much higher. Subpar TA, but good person.
