Schaeffer really loves the subjects and really wants you to learn about the subject matter. All exams were writing based but were not too difficult - as long as you read or went to lecture you should do fine.
I took this class in the summer and it was a cake-walk. We spent half of the classes watching a movie and going home. The other half of the classes were discussion about the movie we just watched. Journal 25%, Participation 25%, and Final 1500-word essay 50%. The grades are essentially a completion grade. Shaeffer is very nice, enthusiastic, and makes sure to keep the class fun.
This class in interesting and fairly easy.
